René Smit joined the Equinix in 2013 where he led budget and forecasting processes as well as management reporting as part of the EMEA FP&A team. In 2019, he was appointed Senior Director of Regional Finance, EMEA. In this role he is a member of the EMEA Management team and is responsible for all regional budgeting, forecasting and management reporting. He’s also responsible for all finance business partnering with the EMEA president, SVP Sales and all country managers.
René joined Equinix from Prologis, where he held various FP&A positions. His career began as a finance consultant where he gained valuable insights and experience across multiple sectors. Born and raised in the Netherlands, René holds a master’s degree in Accounting & Controlling from the University of Amsterdam and is based in the Equinix EMEA Headquarters in Amsterdam.
